Senior Nurse Practitioner with Advanced Clinical Expertise

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Community CAMHS team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist assessments and nursing interventions to children and young people with ADHD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessments and nursing interventions to patients within a care group
  • Participate in review of clinical policies and guidelines relevant to the area and support and implement changes to practice
  • Liaise with other organisations and professionals to promote communication and good practice
  • Undertake audit activity and supervision to other staff in service area/care group
  • Have an understanding of psychosocial interventions to include psycho-education, wellness recovery action plans, Delivering With, Delivering Well and discharge planning
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role
  • Degree/diploma level supplemented by specialist qualification, training, experience, courses to masters level equivalent relevant to the care group
  • Evidence of post registration training in relevant service area
  • Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent
  • Supplementary/Independent Non-Medical Prescribing Module (level 3)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Lived Experience of mental health issues
  • Experience of supervising staff and students
  • Comprehensive knowledge of interventions specific to service area
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff, patients, families, carers and professionals
  • Able to effectively manage risk
  • Able to manage, delegate and contribute to service development, including leading clinical discussions, consultations, undertake audit and job plan
  • Supervise junior clinicians both professionally and clinically
  • Develop and deliver training to staff, students, professionals and agencies
  • Participate in staff selection and recruitment, and performance management where required
  • Demonstrate Trust values
