Job Summary
The Education Authority seeks a skilled Youth Support Worker in Charge to lead our youth programs and services. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of youth development and a passion for creating positive outcomes for young people.
Main Responsibilities
- To develop and implement a comprehensive youth program that addresses the needs of young people in our community, aligned with the 'Model for Effective Practice'.
- To provide leadership and support to a team of part-time workers and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- To ensure that young people are actively engaged in the program and have a voice in its development and direction.
- To build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to promote the program and secure resources.
- To provide guidance and support to young people to help them set and achieve their goals, and to develop their skills and confidence.
- To challenge and support young people to make positive changes in their lives, and to promote healthy relationships and behaviors.
- To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program, using data and feedback to inform improvements and ensure high-quality services.
- To work with young people to identify and address risks and challenges, and to develop strategies for overcoming obstacles.
- To ensure that the program is delivered in a safe and inclusive environment, and that the well-being and safety of young people are paramount.
- To manage administrative tasks, including financial management, record-keeping, and reporting, to ensure the program runs smoothly and efficiently.
- To contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support the program and the organization, and to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in youth development, program management, and leadership, with a passion for creating positive outcomes for young people. They will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the 'Model for Effective Practice' and the ability to develop and implement effective programs that meet the needs of young people.
