Job Summary

The Education Authority seeks a skilled Youth Support Worker in Charge to lead our youth programs and services. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of youth development and a passion for creating positive outcomes for young people.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To develop and implement a comprehensive youth program that addresses the needs of young people in our community, aligned with the 'Model for Effective Practice'.
  2. To provide leadership and support to a team of part-time workers and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  3. To ensure that young people are actively engaged in the program and have a voice in its development and direction.
  4. To build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to promote the program and secure resources.
  5. To provide guidance and support to young people to help them set and achieve their goals, and to develop their skills and confidence.
  6. To challenge and support young people to make positive changes in their lives, and to promote healthy relationships and behaviors.
  7. To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program, using data and feedback to inform improvements and ensure high-quality services.
  8. To work with young people to identify and address risks and challenges, and to develop strategies for overcoming obstacles.
  9. To ensure that the program is delivered in a safe and inclusive environment, and that the well-being and safety of young people are paramount.
  10. To manage administrative tasks, including financial management, record-keeping, and reporting, to ensure the program runs smoothly and efficiently.
  11. To contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support the program and the organization, and to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in youth development, program management, and leadership, with a passion for creating positive outcomes for young people. They will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the 'Model for Effective Practice' and the ability to develop and implement effective programs that meet the needs of young people.
