Job Purpose:

To lead the development and delivery of youth programmes that promote social education and empowerment. This role involves strategic leadership and operational guidance to ensure effective youth work across various settings.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement youth programmes based on identified needs, aligned with the Model for Effective Practice.

2. Provide leadership and support to part-time workers and volunteers, fostering a collaborative team environment.

3. Encourage youth participation and engagement, promoting a model of youth-led initiatives.

4. Build and maintain relationships with the wider community and external agencies to enhance programme delivery.

5. Offer information and support to young people, empowering them to achieve their goals and participate effectively in groups.

6. Challenge and address oppressive behaviour in young people, promoting positive relationships.

7. Inspire young people to broaden their horizons, become active citizens, and engage with their communities.

8. Evaluate the quality of youth work activities, ensuring their impact on young people's development.

9. Support young people in understanding risk and challenge, empowering them to address key issues in their lives.

10. Implement the Education Authority's Child Protection Policy, safeguarding the welfare of young people and others.

11. Manage administration within the project, including financial matters, record-keeping, and ensuring administrative requirements are met.

12. As appropriate, participate in the recruitment, selection, and induction of paid staff and volunteers.
