Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality youth programs that promote social education and development, working closely with young people to identify and address their needs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. To design and implement a range of youth work activities that align with the 'Model for Effective Practice', prioritizing the needs of the designated area.
  2. To provide leadership and support to a team of part-time workers and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  3. To empower young people to take an active role in the project, promoting a model of youth participation and engagement.
  4. To build and maintain relationships with the wider community and external agencies, ensuring effective partnerships and collaborations.
  5. To provide information and support to young people, helping them to set and achieve their goals, and to work effectively in groups.
  6. To challenge and address oppressive behavior in young people, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  7. To encourage young people to broaden their horizons and become active citizens, promoting social responsibility and community engagement.
  8. To monitor and evaluate the quality of youth work activities, ensuring that they are effective and impactful.
  9. To support young people in understanding and managing risk, and in taking action to address key issues in their lives.
  10. To implement the Management Committee's Child Protection Policy, ensuring the safeguarding of young people and others.
  11. To manage administration within the project, including financial matters, record keeping, and ensuring compliance with administrative requirements.
  12. To contribute to the recruitment, selection, and induction of paid staff and volunteers, as required.
