NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to healthcare services for all individuals. We provide essential interpreting services for patients requiring language assistance in navigating healthcare. We are seeking qualified and experienced sessional BSL interpreters to deliver a professional interpretation service in various healthcare environments.
Requirements:
- Must be currently registered as a qualified BSL interpreter with either the SRLPDC or the NRCPD.
Applicants should be fluent in British Sign Language and possess the necessary training and experience to interpret accurately and consistently between patients and healthcare staff.
Relevant experience in public sector interpreting, advocacy, or legal contexts is essential. We also welcome applications from candidates in the private sector who have the requisite qualifications and experience. As sessional interpreters will operate in diverse settings, including hospitals, health centers, clinics, and patient residences, strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and confidentiality are crucial.
