About the Role

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in delivering specialist therapy services to deaf children in pre-school centres and primary schools. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and managing children and young people who have associated syndromes or special educational needs in addition to their deafness.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assessing and treating children and young people with complex communication needs
  • Managing and organizing your own caseload, building strong relationships with schools and other stakeholders
  • Inducting, supervising, supporting, and directing less experienced Speech and Language Therapists, as well as training students
  • Initiating and undertaking research, clinical governance, and audit projects

Requirements
  • Completed certification in BSL (British Sign Language) Level 2 or willingness to train to this level, funded by Pulse Healthcare
  • Experience in the assessment, differential diagnosis, and treatment of Deaf children who present with a range of speech, language, and communication difficulties
