About the Role

Are you a skilled Control Systems Automation Specialist looking for a rewarding opportunity? We are seeking individuals with substantial experience in maintenance or commissioning roles to join our esteemed engineering firm.

Key Responsibilities

In this fully remote position, you will:

  • Provide expert assistance in diagnosing faults on automated systems and deliver effective solutions.
  • Support clients with 24/7 remote and onsite assistance.
  • Utilize various PLC/PC software application automation packages to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Connect to client systems remotely to diagnose and address faults, even on unfamiliar applications.
  • Identify changes in engineering scope and manage the change control process efficiently.
  • Conduct surveys of automation systems and prepare reports on adoption and obsolescence, advising clients on risks and upgrade paths.
  • Estimate and execute small automation works and repairs, considering hardware scope and labor hours.
  • Engage with clients to observe production processes and suggest improvements to enhance productivity and reduce failure rates.
  • Select and specify PLC/HMI/SCADA hardware and software components.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A completed engineering apprenticeship.
  • Experience in maintenance and/or commissioning roles, with the ability to troubleshoot various PLC manufacturers and types.
  • Skills to make minor modifications to PLC code and systems, including changing PLC cards and rectifying coding issues.
  • Capability to connect and back up PLC and HMI software applications as required.
  • Experience in supervising small teams and working with technical documentation such as routing drawings, schematic diagrams, and commissioning plans.
  • Knowledge in selecting general LV electrical items and instrumentation equipment for various applications.
