Job Title: Litigation Handler

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Handler to join our team at Gallagher. As a Litigation Handler, you will play a crucial role in defending litigated motor claims on behalf of large corporates, from issue to trial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defending litigated motor claims, including personal injury/property damage, credit hire, LVI, and fraud
  • Assessing liability and setting and maintaining reserves in accordance with client service level agreements and client key performance indicators
  • Investigating the merits of third-party claims
  • Negotiating with third parties, third-party insurers, and third-party solicitors to achieve the best client outcome
  • Valuing general and special damages
  • Ensuring full compliance with office protocols, client service level agreements, and client key performance indicators
  • Working within and supporting the litigation team to achieve and maintain full compliance with office protocols, client service level agreements, and client key performance indicators
  • Delegating and supervising tasks to Claims Administration Assistants
  • Complying with financial transactions in accordance with client service level agreements, client key performance indicators, and The Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Acting as a technical and procedural referral for others in the litigation team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field; additional certifications or qualifications are a plus
  • Proven experience in handling litigated motor cases, preferably within a corporate setting
  • Strong knowledge of motor insurance law, regulations, and legal procedures
