Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Process Design Engineer to join our team in Ellesmere Port. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for hazardous areas, ensuring compliance with ATEX regulations.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop mechanical systems for hazardous areas, ensuring compliance with ATEX regulations
  2. Collaborate with project managers to provide technical support and ensure successful project delivery
  3. Liaise with clients and sub-suppliers to ensure technical delivery of projects
  4. Undertake design reviews and attend design review meetings
  5. Provide in-house manufacturing support based on produced design
  6. Specify project materials
Secondary Responsibilities:
  1. Manage, report, and approve the delivery of project drawings and associated records
  2. Attend project handover with the sales team if needed
  3. Contribute to sales quote input if needed
  4. Manage build queries for both the workshop and site work if needed
  5. Communicate Good Practice to other projects with reference to the Performance Improvement Procedure
  6. Responsible for their own health and safety and that of others and undertake the obligations as defined within the H&S Manual
  7. Assist in the implementation of our clients' Quality Assurance, Environmental Management System, abide and promote its Policies and Procedures
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2-3 years' experience within a Process Design role
  • Knowledge of ATEX and mechanical design of systems for hazardous areas
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Knowledge and experience of the design life cycles of a project
  • Awareness of the regulations and standards applicable to Mechanical/Process systems
  • Experience of working within the process, oil & gas, and petrochemical industry
