Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Associate to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide support to patients and families, working closely with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care under the leadership of a registered nurse.
- Provide a professional nursing service to patients and families in the Day Hospice and across the hospice settings.
- Supervise and guide students, junior members of staff, unqualified carers, and volunteers in the Hospice.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Hospice service, ensuring that patient care remains at the forefront.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary and clinical meetings, liaising with other professional groups involved in patient care.
- Contribute towards prevention and management of infections, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Manage patient lists and assist with the smooth running of Day Hospice services, such as Carers groups and Clinic lists.
- Registered Nurse Associate on the NMC register.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification.
- GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.
- Advanced communication skills training.
- Post-registration experience of working in a palliative care setting.
- Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience of co-ordinating workload for self and others.
- Ability to participate in audit and training.
- Ability to communicate with colleagues from clinical and non-clinical teams, with patients, and those close to them.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- IT literate, with keyboard and computer skills and able to use clinical care systems.
- Ability to assess, implement, and evaluate individualized care for patients.
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate evidence-based clinical skills.
- Confidence to lead clinics/workshops.
- Passion for the ethos of the hospice and demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for the vision of the organization.
- Ability to prioritize and manage own and others' time and workload effectively.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Shows compassion and treats people with dignity, respect, and kindness.
- Ability to instill confidence in others.
