Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Associate to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide support to patients and families, working closely with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care under the leadership of a registered nurse.
  • Provide a professional nursing service to patients and families in the Day Hospice and across the hospice settings.
  • Supervise and guide students, junior members of staff, unqualified carers, and volunteers in the Hospice.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Hospice service, ensuring that patient care remains at the forefront.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary and clinical meetings, liaising with other professional groups involved in patient care.
  • Contribute towards prevention and management of infections, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Manage patient lists and assist with the smooth running of Day Hospice services, such as Carers groups and Clinic lists.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse Associate on the NMC register.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification.
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Advanced communication skills training.
  • Post-registration experience of working in a palliative care setting.
  • Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of co-ordinating workload for self and others.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to participate in audit and training.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues from clinical and non-clinical teams, with patients, and those close to them.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • IT literate, with keyboard and computer skills and able to use clinical care systems.
  • Ability to assess, implement, and evaluate individualized care for patients.
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate evidence-based clinical skills.
  • Confidence to lead clinics/workshops.
