Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at our head office near Chorley. The successful candidate will have experience in mechanical design engineering within a regulated industry, with a strong understanding of design codes, standards, and procedures.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop safe and compliant engineering solutions, verifying and validating them against project requirements.
  • Produce detailed design drawings in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Generate engineering documentation to support the design process.
  • Source innovative solutions to achieve optimal engineered results.
  • Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments.
Requirements
  • Experience in mechanical design engineering within a regulated industry (nuclear preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience of design and detailing plant and equipment.
  • Understanding of design codes, standards, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts, change control methodology, and common project management practices.
  • Degree qualified or Level 6 equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
