Manage a Family-Oriented Pub in Welshpool

The Smithfield Bell is a welcoming establishment designed for families, located in a bustling retail area of Welshpool. This venue is surrounded by popular attractions, making it a favored spot for visitors. With both indoor and outdoor play areas, it caters to guests of all ages.
FacilitiesThe pub features a spacious bar offering a diverse selection of ales, beers, and ciders, complemented by entertainment options such as TVs and a pool table.
Culinary OfferingsOur menu is classic and inclusive, with the dining area accommodating up to 160 guests indoors and an additional 40 outdoors during peak times. A dedicated pizza kitchen is available for takeaway, catering to those on the go.
Sales and Community EngagementCurrently, the pub operates with a sales ratio of 65:35 between food and drink, with expected weekly sales around £15,000. We seek a licensee who can forge strong community ties and is motivated to enhance sales, maximizing the potential of the Smithfield Bell.
What We Offer- A guaranteed annual retained sum of £35,000, disbursed weekly.
- A 26% share of weekly sales, excluding VAT.
- Performance-based incentive bonuses.
- Low initial costs, starting with a £5,000 deposit and £360 in legal fees.
- Accommodation provided, with most bills covered (excluding council tax and TV license).
- All stock, including food and related consumables, supplied by Marston's, with management responsibilities post-delivery.
- Comprehensive training and ongoing support.
- A dedicated area manager to assist in business growth.
- Access to a robust support network, including marketing and food specialists.
- Free access to our Learning, Development, and Training platform, valued at over £300.
As a food-led business, our pubs operate under Marston's corporate menu. We are looking for self-sufficient hospitality managers with creativity who can drive sales and enhance guest experiences.
In addition to the £5,000 security deposit, candidates must cover legal costs (£360) and their own insurance (excluding building insurance, which we provide). It is also essential to consider team management and employment matters.
Before finalizing the agreement, candidates must demonstrate proof of independent financial advice and complete a sustainable business plan in line with industry standards. Obtaining a personal license and completing induction training is also required.
This is a five-year commitment, allowing ample time to develop the business. However, if needed, there is an option for early termination with a six-month notice period.
