We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Operations Coordinator to support the Business Manager in managing the school's financial processes. This role is ideal for someone who is meticulous, has a strong understanding of financial operations within an educational setting, and is capable of handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake financial processes under the guidance of the Business Manager, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions.
- Input monthly journals and bank statements for accurate bank reconciliation, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Monitor finance inputs, process invoices, manage direct debits, and BACS payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Support school fund trips and events with payment entries, maintaining a clear and organized record of all financial transactions.
- Investigate Aged Creditors and Debtors, reconcile supplier statements, and resolve queries, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Process staff expenses and prepare BACS payments, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Reconcile government grants monthly, including ESFA GAG, Pupil Premium, and Pupil Premium Plus, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end audits, providing valuable support to the Business Manager.
- Maintain and archive finance records and files, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit VAT claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Collaborate on payroll preparation and respond to staff payroll queries, providing excellent customer service.
- Manage financial assistance claims and invoice processing, ensuring efficient and accurate processing.
- Support the Business Manager with HR and operational administrative tasks, demonstrating a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
- Proven experience in financial administration, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines and targets.
- Knowledge of financial procedures and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in handling sensitive information and ensuring data protection.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to support the school's ethos and aims.
- Willingness to participate in relevant meetings, training, and professional development.
