Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport goods from specified distribution points to various locations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-departure inspections of the vehicle and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Adhere to all traffic regulations and safety protocols while operating the vehicle.
  • Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring all items are securely fastened.
  • Maintain precise records of each journey, including distance traveled, fuel usage, and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with logistics coordinators, providing timely updates on delivery progress and any challenges faced during transit.
  • Comply with the company's health and safety standards, prioritizing the safety of yourself and others.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Heavy Goods Vehicle license with a clean driving history (no more than 6 penalty points).
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in a similar driving role, particularly in the transportation of containers.
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with logistics teams and other personnel.
  • Capability to work autonomously and make informed decisions while on the road.
  • Physical fitness and endurance, as the role involves handling and securing cargo.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights, to accommodate operational needs.
  • Experience with container handling and port operations is advantageous.

This role will initially be on an ad-hoc basis, with the potential for ongoing opportunities for the right candidate.
