Vessel Performance Analyst

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled data analyst to join Shell's Trading team as a Vessel Performance Analyst. In this role, you will work closely with Freight Traders and Freight Operations to deliver bottom-line value through data analysis and visualization.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor real-time consumptions and emissions to identify inefficiencies
- Develop and enhance vessel optimization tools to improve fleet performance and emissions data
- Design and implement data platforms and dashboards to provide insights to Traders and Operators
- Collaborate with Vessel Performance Manager to provide support and guidance to Freight Trading desks
- Work with Freight Operations to support real-time interventions
- Engage with external service providers on voyage optimization and analytics
- Provide commercial and contractual advice on vessel performance-related matters
- Identify areas for commercial value addition and value leakage
- Implement ideas from the Shipping Value team to improve fleet efficiency
- Support Vessel Performance Manager with data analysis and presentation for external engagements
- Act as backup for managing vessel performance claims process
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization skills with tools like MS Excel, Power BI, and Qlik
- Ability to extract and analyze data from multiple sources
- Self-starter with a keen interest in data analytics and problem-solving
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Project and time management skills
- Knowledge of technologies used in the Shipping sector
- Experience with programming tools like Python, SQL, and Excel VBA
- Basic understanding of ships and their operations
