Operations Manager for Young People's Services

Caridon Young Living is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the development and delivery of housing services for young adults in need of supported accommodation and floating support.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the development and delivery of housing services for young adults
- Lead a team of 4 Team Leaders and staff
- Act as the safeguarding lead for the organisation
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures and all regulations and standards at all times
- Provide monthly reports to the director including data and statistics
- Manage budgets responsibly and ensure audit trails are implemented in the service
- Ensure the service is compliant with Social Care needs
- Lead the organisation through Ofsted inspections
- Manage in line with Ofsted requirements
- Oversee the line management of a Deputy Operations Manager and Team Leaders
- Be the Safeguarding Lead for the services
- Comply with Safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times and promote an honest and open culture
- Develop the staff team's knowledge and understanding of practices and processes
- Actively promote a culture of high performance
- Demonstrate strong and effective leadership and people management
- Inspire, motivate, and build a highly skilled and engaged workforce
- Ensure that resources, including staff, are effectively deployed to optimise service delivery
- Demonstrate excellent communication with all internal and external stakeholders
- Be accountable for effectively managing financial performance and for meeting and exceeding agreed targets
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement and development with a strong focus on best practice
- Promote a learning organisation culture and commit to personal and workforce skills' development

- Ensure all staff are recruited under the safer recruitment processes
- Develop programmes and innovative projects for the young people to partake in
- Manage the team leaders and oversee the running of all houses
- Ensure all investigations are followed through and incidents are properly recorded with changes and learning implemented
- Manage properties in line with growth
- NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management (working with young people) or equivalent
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation of the Children's Act and Ofsted National standards in supported accommodation
- Experience in working within the relevant health and social care setting
- Exceptional leadership and management skills with a minimum of 5 years' experience working in children's settings
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in managing at a senior level with understanding and knowledge of Safeguarding
- Commitment to enhancing knowledge in current legislation around child protection and safeguarding
- Detailed knowledge of outcomes-based practice as referred to in Children's Home Quality regulations 2015
- Knowledge of Children's Rights e.g., advocacy and internal complaints procedure
- Experience working with vulnerable children, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Conditions, and Challenging Behaviour
- At least five years of management experience

- Ensure managers and staff are compliant with their duties and responsibilities
- Manage the floating support service and develop and grow this part of the business
- Carry out HR processes and disciplinary actions where needed
- Ensure all staff meet the safer recruitment policy
- Receive training appropriate to the role and maintain an up-to-date training profile
- Maintain accurate financial records appropriate to the duties of the post
- Ensure health, safety, and welfare of self and colleagues in accordance with organisational Health and Safety Policies
- Maintain the upkeep of the houses through general cleaning of communal areas
- Oversee the day-to-day running of all services and contribute to the growth of the organisation
This post requires the holder to work Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm, with some weekend and evening work as required. The post holder also is required to work weekends as part of a rota and Bank Holidays when required. Sleeping duties are also required for which an additional payment is made.
In accordance with the guidelines on Health and Safety, the post holder must accept responsibility for working within these guidelines and reporting any concerns to the Director. The post holder will also be on call for the unit to assist with any emergencies or staff cover, and is expected to attend the unit if required during unsociable hours.
Full driving licence needed for the role.
