Job Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to support governance and quality assurance initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving improvement and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities

The Governance and Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing governance and quality assurance strategies to improve patient safety and outcomes
  • Leading risk management and compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and address quality and safety concerns
  • Providing guidance and support to teams on governance and quality assurance best practices
  • Monitoring and reporting on quality and safety metrics to inform improvement initiatives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need:

  • Substantial experience in a senior managerial and leadership role within an acute healthcare setting
  • Expert knowledge of clinical audit and effectiveness, CQC compliance, and quality improvement techniques
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions to complex problems
  • Current clinical registration, NMC/GMC/AHP
