Job Summary

We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong electronic and IT-based technical skills, with a keen interest in the field of AV and video. The role involves responding to technical support enquiries, managing product returns, and assisting customers with system designs and configurations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Respond to technical support enquiries via phone or email
  2. Manage product returns, generate reports, and coordinate return shipping
  3. Assist customers with system designs and configurations for specific projects
  4. Test new products prior to release and provide feedback to the development team
  5. Provide onsite support for major projects worldwide, including out-of-hours support
  6. Demonstrate products to potential customers and act in a technical sales capacity
  7. Assist with preparation, build-up, and break-down at key industry events and tradeshows worldwide

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  1. Strong problem-solving capabilities and tenacity to work through complex challenges
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  3. Ability to thrive in an environment where interacting with people and working together to find solutions is key
  4. A basic understanding of electronics and electrical theory
  5. Good IT skills and a level of comfort working with both Windows and OSX operating systems
  6. Ability to prioritize appropriately when balancing multiple tasks
  7. Excellent time management
  8. Capacity to remain calm when working under pressure
  9. A commitment to maintaining consistently high-quality outcomes
  10. A valid passport and a willingness to travel

Desirable Extras

  1. Experience in an equivalent technical support role
  2. A qualification in electronics, IT, or a related scientific field
  3. Experience working or assisting in a live production environment
  4. Experience working with or using video equipment, particularly LED video panels and digital content
  5. Experience of creating technical documentation (technical bulletins, how-to guides, etc.)
  6. A working knowledge of CAD or drawing applications
  7. Written or verbal ability in foreign languages
  8. A further or higher qualification in electronics, IT, or a related scientific field
