Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Manager

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team at CBW Staffing Solutions. As an Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company complies with environmental regulations, minimizes our carbon footprint, and implements sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Environmental Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to address environmental challenges, such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, and pollution control.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure that our company is compliant with ISO14001 standards and other relevant environmental regulations.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Create and implement policies related to sustainability, waste management, and chemical control.
  • Environmental Audits: Conduct audits, assess environmental impacts, gather data, and recommend improvements.
  • Employee Education: Educate employees about environmental issues and responsibilities and create a culture of environmental awareness within all business practices.
  • Waste Management: Coordinate waste management, identify and implement recycling initiatives, pollution controls, and safe waste disposal methods.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency as and when required.
  • Environmental Performance: Assess, analyze, and collate environmental performance data and report information to internal staff, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Carbon Reporting: Responsibility for carbon reporting, net zero targets, and other aspects of the company's environmental management system.
  • Renewable Energy: Identify and research new renewable technologies and energy sources and explore the potential of introducing sustainable energy options for the business and its clients.
  • Community Engagement: Prepare and deliver environmental presentations to third parties we work with, such as councils, social landlords, schools, and colleges, as part of our Community Benefit offerings.
  • Project Management: Ensure that installation projects are carried out in line with environmental legislation and best practices are complied with.
  • Professional Development: Keep up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives relevant to the business.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Project Management: The ability to take the lead on projects with experience of managing projects from start to completion.
  • Knowledge and Understanding: Knowledge and understanding of relevant company quality, environmental, and health and safety policies, procedures, instructions, and risk assessment systems.
  • Environmental Knowledge: A degree or HND in an environment-related subject, such as environmental sciences, environmental management, geography, or environmental health.
  • Management Systems: Knowledge, understanding, and experience of working with management systems standards, including ISO9001, 14001, and ISO45001.
  • Environmental Awareness: A genuine interest and understanding of environmental issues, relevant legislation, and renewable energy sources.
