About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Manager to join our team at CBW Staffing Solutions. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company complies with environmental regulations, minimizes our carbon footprint, and implements sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to address sustainability and environmental challenges, such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, and pollution control.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure that our company complies with environmental regulations and standards, including ISO14001.
  • Waste Management and Recycling: Coordinate waste management, identify and implement recycling initiatives, pollution controls, and safe waste disposal methods.
  • Carbon Reporting and Net Zero Targets: Assess, analyze, and collate environmental performance data and report information to internal staff, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Renewable Energy and Sustainability: Identify and research new renewable technologies and energy sources, and explore the potential of introducing sustainable energy options for the business and its clients.
  • Community Engagement: Prepare and deliver environmental presentations to third parties, such as councils, social landlords, schools, and colleges, as part of our community benefit offerings.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from start to completion, ensuring that they are carried out in line with environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Keep up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives relevant to the business.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication and Influencing Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Project Management Experience: The ability to take the lead on projects with experience of managing projects from start to completion.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Policies: Knowledge and understanding of relevant company quality, sustainability, environmental, and health & safety policies, procedures, instructions, and risk assessment systems.
  • Education and Qualifications: A degree or HND in an environment-related subject, such as environmental sciences, environmental management, geography, or environmental health.
  • Knowledge of Management Systems Standards: Knowledge, understanding, and experience of working with management systems standards, including ISO9001, 14001, and ISO45001.
  • Interest in Sustainability and Environmental Issues: A genuine interest and understanding of sustainability and environmental issues, relevant legislation, and renewable energy sources.
