Job Title: Youth Support Assistant - SEMH/SEN

Job Type: Temporary

Location: Salford

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Support Assistant to join our team at an alternative provision education provider in Salford. The successful candidate will work with students between 4-16 years old who have challenging behaviour, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as Special Educational Needs (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Work with healthcare and therapeutic professionals to provide individualized support to students
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEMH/SEN needs
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement behavior management strategies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH/SEN students
  • Classroom support experience
  • Team Teach training (training can be provided)
  • Commitment to supporting vulnerable students in a specialist environment

What We Offer:

  • Immediate start
  • Monday - Friday, 8.30 to 3.30
  • Competitive pay rates inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay
