Job Overview
Freightforce Distribution Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to oversee the operations of our PM warehouse shift. This individual will be responsible for managing the movement of time-critical freight, loading and unloading lorries, labelling pallets, conducting yard management duties, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Freight Management
- Oversee the loading and unloading of lorries
- Ensure accurate labelling of pallets for onward deliveries
- Manage the movement of trailers within the yard
- Shunt trailers in and out of the warehouse using an HGV
- Schedule staff rotas and allocate tasks
- Manage staff performance, including rotas, individual jobs, breaks, and holidays
- Ensure the quality and effectiveness of staff duties
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Liaise with Operations Managers and other departments
- Communicate with Pallet Network office staff
Requirements
- Leadership and Management
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Ability to manage a team of 4-5 staff members
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics
- Understanding of freight management and distribution
- Forklift licence
- C+E/Shunter licence (preferred but not essential)
