We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to enhance our operations.

Role Overview:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer is tasked with refining production workflows, guaranteeing superior product standards, and meeting essential performance metrics (KPIs) in our plasterboard manufacturing facility. This position encompasses performing daily operational assessments, spearheading enhancement initiatives, mentoring plant staff, designing mechanical components, and executing data evaluations to foster ongoing improvement and operational excellence. The Manufacturing Process Engineer is vital in boosting productivity, minimizing expenses, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Knauf's Health and Safety protocols and UK HSE regulations to safeguard yourself and colleagues.
  • Uphold exemplary standards of Health and Safety, Quality, and security within the workplace, ensuring alignment with ISO and Knauf benchmarks.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and inspections of production workflows to guarantee seamless operations and compliance with quality benchmarks.
  • Manage short- and medium-term projects aimed at surpassing production KPIs related to efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Offer technical expertise and support to plant personnel, ensuring adherence to best practices and prompt resolution of operational challenges.
  • Perform routine process assessments and suggest further modifications as necessary.
  • Design and draft small-scale mechanical components essential for process enhancements and equipment upgrades.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement and Statistical Process Control (SPC) initiatives on the production line to boost productivity, minimize waste, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns, reveal inefficiencies, and generate actionable insights for process advancements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, engineering, and production management, to drive effective and cohesive process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in plasterboard manufacturing or equivalent production experience as deemed appropriate by the employer.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate with and influence others in a dynamic environment and flexibility with working hours.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP applications.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent in a scientific or engineering discipline or relevant experience.
