Deputy Ward Manager Opportunity

Spire St Anthony Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Deputy Ward Manager to join our dynamic nursing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the care of pre and post-operative surgical patients from various specialities, including major orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, and cardiothoracic & cardiology.

About the Role

The Deputy Ward Manager will assist the Ward Manager in the day-to-day running of the wards, ensuring the smooth delivery of care to patients. This will involve assessing patient health and well-being, developing and implementing care plans, and promoting best practice in health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Ward Manager in assessing patient health and well-being
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet individual patient needs
  • Assist in maintaining and developing services to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Provide complex, sensitive, or contentious information to patients and families
  • Develop own knowledge and skills, as well as those of others, to enhance patient care
  • Promote best practice in health and safety and security

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with experience working in an acute environment, preferably in a leadership position. They will be able to work effectively in a team, with minimum supervision, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
