Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team in Chorley. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering a portfolio of projects, including financial performance, benefits realization, and customer satisfaction. The Project Manager will report to the Actemium Design UK Sector Manager, responsible for market segments related to the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the public wider good in all actions, acting in a morally, legally, and socially appropriate manner in dealings with stakeholders and members of Actemium Design UK teams and the organization.
  • Determine the best means of satisfying requirements within the context of project objectives and constraints to develop workable solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain schedules of activities and events, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements.
  • Identify and monitor project risks (threats and opportunities), planning and implementing responses to them and responding to other issues that affect their projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and apply quality management processes for project activities and outputs.
  • Ensure appropriate contracts are in place and aligned with Actemium Design UK governance.
  • Ensure appropriate change control mechanisms are in place aligned to Actemium Design UK governance.
  • Establish and maintain governance arrangements for the delivery of projects, defining clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities, that align with organizational procedures & practice.
  • Manage stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and interests.
  • Empower and inspire others to deliver.
Requirements
  • A minimum of an HNC/HND qualification in project / business / commercial management or in an engineering / technical subject.
  • Several years' experience in a project management role.
  • Full membership of the Association for Project Management (APM).
  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of project or portfolio delivery with a value circa £2m per annum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good commercial acumen and contract negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrate financial awareness and ability to manage budgets and forecast resources.
  • Controlled management of scope change and project variations.
Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with the implementation of the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Capable of using CEMAR or similar contract management platform.
  • Ability to use MS Project and / or Primavera P6 as a project scheduling tool.
  • Take the initiative and work collaboratively with others to find innovative solutions.
  • Knowledge of the legal and commercial requirements of operating as part of a Joint Venture (JV) or consortia of partner companies.
  • Highly organized and take a structured and methodical approach in analyzing data and decision making.
  • Delivered projects through the various stages of a design lifecycle.
  • Confident in a customer-facing role and build positive relationships.
  • Ability to communicate the project requirements and ensure benefits realization.
  • Experience of preparing bids and tenders for new opportunities.
