CK Group is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join their team at a specialist chemicals manufacturing company based near Chorley.
About the CompanyOur client is a well-established, award-winning specialist polymer and resin manufacturer. They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team, reporting to the Chemical Process Safety Manager.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing mechanical projects, generating proposals, and establishing project goals. The company offers a competitive salary, 25 days' holiday, pension, and healthcare.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all phases of projects, including engineering design, procurement, planning, installation, and evaluation.
- Create designs to solve specific issues, including creating equipment specifications.
- Develop a plan for each project that includes its requirements, cost, and timings.
- Identify, plan, and manage required resources, which may include external contractors.
- Identify and manage potential risks in the project, and participate in risk assessment requirements as needed.
- Analyze tasks concerning the project schedule.
- Contribute to the verification and signing off of designs.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Create and/or update engineering drawings as required, such as isometrics.
- Proven industry experience in a mechanical project management role within the chemical manufacturing sector.
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline, such as mechanical engineering.
- Technically proficient in mechanical design and maintenance of equipment such as agitators, reactors, and pumps.
- Good working knowledge of agitated semi-batch reactors.
- Familiar with management systems such as Permit-to-Work, Management of Change & Lockout Tagout.
- Ideally, experience of working with a plant maintenance system.
- Experience on a COMAH site would be advantageous.
