Job Description

We are thrilled to be working with a leading global energy company to recruit a Health and Safety Specialist for their Decommissioning team on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Health and Safety Professional to play a crucial role in supporting health and safety operations for one of their major decommissioning projects, while also providing valuable support to other key projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers to develop and implement a comprehensive health and safety strategy that ensures legislative compliance and effectively communicates initiatives in a team-oriented manner.
  • Oversee the application of company health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring they align with legislation, guidance, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor compliance and maintain the health and safety management system's processes and procedures, supporting daily operations.
  • Assess when intervention or escalation is necessary, particularly in regulatory areas of concern.
  • Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, gather essential information, and identify risks and impacts to drive corrective actions and improvements.
  • Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility by promoting effective safety behaviours and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a heavy industrial sector, energy, oil and gas, or a related industry.
  • Offshore experience is desirable.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent Certificate and relevant membership of IOSH (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Desirable).
