Community Psychiatric Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Mental Health Nurse to join our North Ayrshire Elderly Community Mental Health Team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with colleagues in primary care, community, social work, and the third sector to provide assessment, care, support, and interventions to patients and carers living in North Ayrshire.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the team to provide high-quality care and support to patients and carers.
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement interventions to promote the health and well-being of older adults with complex mental health needs.
- Supervise and support junior members of staff to ensure the delivery of excellent care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of innovative practice and policies to improve patient outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A well-developed knowledge of care for older people with complex mental health problems in the community.
- Organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A UK driving licence and car ownership.

We are committed to full implementation of the 37-hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety.
