About the Role:

Oliver James is seeking a highly skilled pensions actuary to join their Pension Risk Transfer team as an Associate Director. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable and well-established pensions consultancy, advising on and implementing risk reduction strategies for some of the largest DB pension schemes in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on buy-ins and buyouts, longevity swaps, superfunds, and third-party capital transactions, considering how these solutions fit with the schemes' journey plans.
  • Run the provider selection process, including bidding rounds, commercial negotiations, and beauty parades.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Work closely with the team to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • FIA qualified with post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in pensions risk transfer activities from within consultancy or BPA providers.
  • Proven delegation skills and a desire to coach and mentor more junior pensions actuaries.
