We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Home Night Nurse to join our team at Marlborough House Adolescent Inpatient unit in Swindon, Wiltshire.

About the Role

As a Care Home Night Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating the nursing team on duty, allocating routine daily activities, and overseeing the delivery of a high-quality service to the young people on the ward.

You will work closely with families to support and empower them, and will be required to communicate frequently with the families of young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the nursing team on duty and allocate routine daily activities
  • Oversee the delivery of a high-quality service to the young people on the ward
  • Support the delivery of our Eating Disorder Program (EDP) and key working and supervising meals with young people who are on this care pathway
  • Support the delivery of our Managing Emotions Pathway (MEP) and key working and assisting young people to learn and apply DBT informed skills to help manage distress
  • Care plan and update risk assessments for young people to ensure their care needs are all met
Requirements
  • RMN/RNLD or RNC qualification
  • Knowledge of mental illness and its treatments relating to young people
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Further training in psychosocial interventions
  • Training in clinical risk assessment and management

Working Hours

This role involves working shifts which will include some nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Our shift patterns are as follows: early shifts 07:00-14:45, late shifts 13:15-21:00, and night shifts are 20:40-07:20.

Also required is a level of fitness and ability to competently perform Physical Interventions and/or Breakaway techniques (practical and theory) following training.

Interview Process

As part of the interview process, young people on the unit may be giving each applicant a brief tour of the premises and will also be asking a few interview questions they have prepared themselves.
