About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Merrist Wood College. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners across a range of courses, ensuring they reach their full academic potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to learners in a variety of settings, including classrooms, stables, animal enclosures, and outdoor areas.
  • Assist with timetabled activities and provide individualized support to learners to help them build confidence and motivation.
  • Establish good working relationships with learners, tutors, and other staff members to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of learning plans to meet the needs of learners.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy learning environment.

Requirements

  • Educated to a minimum of Level 3 in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience of working in an FE environment, preferably in a teaching or support role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with learners, tutors, and other staff members.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
