Faculty Overview

The pathway aims to equip pharmacists with the skills necessary to effectively utilize their full professional capabilities, particularly in optimizing medication management for individuals with severe mental health conditions and related physical health issues. This is accomplished through an interactive and collaborative educational approach known as Team-Based Learning (TBL), delivered in an online format. The program is designed to cultivate independent advanced practitioners by enhancing their clinical, consultation, assessment, leadership, service evaluation, and decision-making competencies. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering education in professional and clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the pathway leader to design, develop, and implement the Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist Training Pathway, funded by a national health service contract. Enhance our distinguished postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy education. Currently, we are engaged with the third cohort, which is set to continue for a specified duration, with potential for additional cohorts based on future evaluations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Demonstrated experience in teaching pharmacists or pharmacy students, preferably in mental health or primary care settings. A professional background in patient-facing roles is essential. Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification is required. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator, actively involved in the creation of innovative learning resources alongside our experienced and supportive team. An independent prescribing qualification is advantageous.
