Computing Lecturer

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Health Sciences, Meditech and Technology department as a Trainee Computing Lecturer.
This is an ideal role for candidates with academic or industrial experience in the IT sector, eager to venture into teaching and inspire the next generation of computing professionals.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and learning to our students, motivating and developing their knowledge and skills, and contributing to their own professional growth and development.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of educators and contribute to the development of our curriculum, ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for success in their future careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach on courses specified by the Head of Department/Head of School.
- Motivate and build self-esteem and self-worth/self-belief, developing a 'can do' attitude with students.
- Communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers at appropriate times, conveying relevant information about attainment, objectives and progress.
- Participate in open events and parents/student consultation evenings as appropriate.
- Participate actively in the development of curriculum; and where appropriate in cross College curriculum development.
- Devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
- Devise Plans of Learning for the taught curriculum.
- Be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.
- Act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.
