Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Single Point of Access (SPA) team, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice, guidance, and support to children, young people, and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties or neurodivergence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Screen and triage referrals, providing expert advice, support, and onward referral/signposting to young people and their families.
  • Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to support children who present with complex and wide-ranging symptoms.
  • Provide leadership to the rest of the SPA team as shift coordinator, ensuring effective risk management and case triage.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as schools, local authorities, GPs, and other healthcare professionals, to provide training, advice, and guidance.
  • Support the SPA Operational and Clinical Leads in delivering the service, ensuring it meets national guidance and local key performance indicators.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse with evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio.
  • Previous mental health experience, with a strong understanding of evidence-based practice.
  • Desirable criteria include a qualification in Mental Health or Neurodiversity, previous CAMHS experience, and leadership experience.
