Job Title: Senior Mental Health Practitioner - Single Point of Access

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Single Point of Access (SPA) team in Buckinghamshire. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice, guidance, and support to children, young people, and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties or neurodivergence.

About the Role

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for screening and triaging referrals, providing expert advice and guidance, and onward referrals and signposting. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to support children who present with complex and wide-ranging symptoms. You will also provide leadership to the rest of the SPA team as shift coordinator, ensuring that risk is managed and cases are triaged effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen and triage referrals, mostly by phone contact, with the intention of providing expert advice, support, and onward referral/signposting to young people and their families.
  • Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to support children who present with complex and wide-ranging symptoms.
  • Provide leadership to the rest of the SPA team as shift coordinator, ensuring that risk is managed and cases are triaged effectively.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as schools, local authorities, GPs, and other healthcare professionals for both the care and support of individuals who have been referred into CAMHS, and to provide training, advice, and guidance.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio
  • Qualification in Mental Health or Neurodiversity
