Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Vendor Systems Administrator to engage with external vendors while maintaining a strong technical focus to ensure optimal system performance and resolve any issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee system performance and address any technical challenges.
- Work collaboratively with external vendors to achieve technical solutions and facilitate system enhancements.
- Develop and uphold automation tools and scripts to streamline processes.
- Contribute to the establishment and execution of DevOps best practices.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of system upgrades and migrations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable role within the financial sector, preferably in hedge funds or asset management.
- Expertise in managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and service level agreement (SLA) oversight.
- Demonstrated experience in administering and supporting third-party vendor systems, including trading and risk management platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with configuration management tools, primarily Ansible, as well as Puppet or Chef.
- Proficient in scripting languages, including Python or PowerShell.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with technical teams, traders, portfolio managers, and vendors.
