Ophthalmic Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant General Ophthalmologist to join our team at The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the general ophthalmic and cataract service, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the Consultant on-call rota and work collaboratively with other Consultant Ophthalmologist colleagues.
- Develop and implement teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, as well as contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate continuing medical education activity.
- Provide cover for Consultant colleagues' periods of leave, in accordance with Trust policy.
- Engage in clinical audit and continuing medical education, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
- Experience in cataract surgery and General Ophthalmology is highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to contribute to policy and strategy development, as a senior member of the Division Management Team.
- Commitment to working within the Trust's framework for Clinical Governance and Risk, including the development of clinical policies and adherence to standing orders.
