Job Title: Consultant Medical Oncologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Medical Oncologist to join our team at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a key member of our Cancer Centre, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our oncology services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert medical oncology services to patients with breast and upper gastrointestinal (UGI) cancers. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, conduct clinical audits, and participate in research and education activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of oncology services, including clinical guidelines and protocols
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Engage in research and education activities, including training and mentoring junior staff
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Person Specification
  • Full GMC registration
  • Possession of MRCP and FRCR Clinical Oncology or equivalent qualification
  • Eligibility to be on GMC specialist register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of date of the AAC
  • MD or PhD
