We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring effective maintenance strategies and managing both planned and emergency repair operations. Your expertise will be vital in safeguarding building occupants, ensuring that repairs and renovations are carried out efficiently, and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute projects in line with RICS standards.
- Offer technical advice and support to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Lead the delivery of high-quality, client-focused projects and services that meet client expectations.
- Inform senior management of potential business opportunities and collaborate with marketing strategies.
- Represent the company professionally to external clients.
- Assist in client development initiatives.
- Prepare specifications, drawings, and conduct risk assessments for various projects.
- Draft tender documents and manage contract administration and site monitoring to ensure compliance and quality.
- Conduct site surveys related to building conditions, dilapidations, and maintenance planning; perform defect analysis and prepare technical reports.
- Engage in conservation projects, focusing on materials, repair techniques, and quality control.
- Identify new business prospects.
- Achieve a fee-earning target of 90% while contributing to business objectives.
- Travel to various sites and offices as necessary.
- Perform duties appropriate to the role.
- Promote continuous improvement and deliver high-quality services that adhere to quality standards.
- Commit to the Norse Way CSR strategy.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Membership in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent, with a commitment to achieving chartered status.
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a Building Maintenance related field.
- Current site card or willingness to obtain one promptly.
- Relevant experience in a similar position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Building Regulations and related legislation.
- Understanding of current health and safety legislation, including asbestos risks.
