An exciting opportunity has emerged for a dedicated individual eager to enhance their skills in promoting safe, efficient, and cost-effective medication management within NHS Scotland, as part of the Primary Care Pharmacy Team. Our team is committed to delivering innovative pharmacy services tailored to the needs of patients.

As a Pharmacy Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the Primary Care Pharmacy hub, collaborating across Community, Primary, and Secondary Care pharmacy interfaces, and working alongside general practice, hospital, social care, and third sector professionals to ensure that prescribing practices are safe, effective, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in various tasks, including the development and delivery of training programs.
  • Manage prescriptions and identify cost efficiencies.
  • Coordinate the collection of data, input and analyze information, and update clinical records as necessary.
  • Support quality medication reviews through effective information collation.

This role emphasizes collaboration with patients, families, and caregivers who require assistance with medication management in their homes and care facilities. You will engage in discussions regarding medication use both over the phone and in person.

This position offers a pathway for career development in Primary Care, working alongside multidisciplinary teams, particularly within GP practices, Community Pharmacies, and Care Homes.

We are committed to your professional growth and will facilitate your enrollment in the 'Pharmacy Services SCQF Level 6' training course with West College Scotland.

Successful candidates will possess excellent organizational skills to effectively balance the practical demands of the role with the academic components of the training.
