About the Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Lecturer in Counselling to join our Psychology and Sociology subject area at the University of Northampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, assessment, and related activities on our MSc programmes in Counselling Children and Young People and Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and assess students on our MSc programmes in Counselling Children and Young People and Child and Adolescent Mental Health
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials and resources
- Contribute to the development of our Counselling and Psychotherapy programmes
- Engage in interdisciplinary scholarly activities to enhance the impact and profile of the Faculty's outputs
- Provide a personalized and supportive student learning experience
Requirements
- Master's degree or postgraduate qualification in Counselling and/or Psychotherapy, specifically in the area of children, adolescents, and young people or a relevant related subject
- Registration or accreditation as a counsellor, psychotherapist, or counselling psychologist with a recognized professional body (such as BACP)
- Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognized by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale
Desirable Qualifications
- Doctorate in a relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
