About the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer in Counselling to join our Psychology and Sociology Subject Area at the University of Northampton.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and assess students on our Counselling and related programmes
- Contribute to the development and delivery of our curriculum, including course design and evaluation
- Supervise and mentor students on their research projects and dissertations
- Engage in scholarly activity, including research and publication, to maintain and enhance your professional expertise
- Participate in departmental and faculty-wide initiatives to promote student success and well-being
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree or postgraduate qualification in Counselling and/or Psychotherapy, specifically in the area of children, adolescents, and young people or a relevant related subject
- Registration or accreditation as a counsellor, psychotherapist, or counselling psychologist with a recognised professional body (such as BACP)
- Professional recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Doctorate in a relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
