About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Broker to join our International Treaty team at Howden Re. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our business and delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning & Growth:
    • Develop and implement team strategies to expand our portfolio and drive business growth.
    • Identify and seize opportunities to enhance our client relationships and secure new business.
    • Support new business initiatives and manage client renewals to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Participate in management meetings and contribute to strategy development.
  • Technical Excellence:
    • Design and implement optimal reinsurance broking solutions to meet client needs.
    • Negotiate with markets to secure the best quality, service, and price for our clients.
    • Create and review reinsurance documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Mentor and support junior team members to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Client & Market Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and underwriters to drive business growth.
    • Stay informed about reinsurance market trends to enhance service delivery and stay ahead of the competition.
    • Represent Howden Re professionally, providing top-tier reinsurance services to our clients.
  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures to maintain high service standards.
    • Oversee administrative processes to ensure seamless service delivery and efficient operations.
    • Support team recruitment and development to build a strong and skilled team.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in reinsurance broking, focusing on P&C reinsurance.
  • Deep understanding of reinsurance market dynamics and product knowledge.
  • Strong customer focus and communication skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Advanced understanding of the renewal and production cycle for our clients and prospects.
  • Leadership abilities for coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • High level of numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines to deliver exceptional service.
  • Relevant qualifications (ACII, FCA Level 1 preferred but not required).
