The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding Specialist to join our team. As a Designated Safeguarding Adviser, you will play a critical role in providing front-line support and guidance to young people and adults who may be experiencing challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with learners to assess their support needs and make referrals to internal and external agencies as necessary.
  • Provide advice and guidance to teaching teams and faculty staff on safeguarding procedures and protocols.
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with families of students under the support of the safeguarding team.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and regulations, and maintain accurate records of safeguarding work.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and regulations.
  • Ability to provide comprehensive records and ensure compliance with statutory and legislative procedures.
  • Person-centred approach, with compassion, empathy, and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in social work, youth work, safeguarding, or a care setting.
  • Level 3 qualification and Advanced Safeguarding training within the last two years.
