Key Responsibilities

You will play a vital role in our established safeguarding service, collaborating closely with both adult and child safeguarding teams to ensure the fulfillment of our statutory obligations.

The primary focus of this role is to assist in the development and execution of safeguarding policies and procedures within the organization. This involves engaging with partners and partnership boards, delivering training to staff and multi-agency groups, and providing information, guidance, and support to our workforce working with adults and children.

You will work in conjunction with safeguarding specialists for adults and children, as well as the Mental Capacity Act Lead, to enhance knowledge and improve practices that lead to better outcomes for our patients and clients.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

The safeguarding service is an outstanding environment to work in. Our team of 21 provides specialized advice and operational support to staff across various directorates within Oxford Health. We collaborate with partners in multi-agency boards and partnerships. The work is diverse and fulfilling, offering the chance to positively impact the lives of children and vulnerable adults. What We Require from You

  • Relevant safeguarding experience and professional qualification.

You will have hands-on experience working with children, young individuals, vulnerable adults, and their families. You will be adept at managing complex safeguarding scenarios and will understand the frameworks and processes that underpin effective safeguarding practices.

Compassionate, caring, and innovative with exceptional communication skills.

You must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills. You should be capable of articulating complex legal and practice areas to diverse audiences and providing guidance to various professionals.

Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and the broader partnership system.

You will be able to work collaboratively with teams across all departments and with partners in the wider system. You will promote exemplary safeguarding practices in all your endeavors.

  • Professional registration

Additional Information

  • All new employees will undergo a 6-month probationary period, along with an induction process designed to foster a supportive working environment that allows new hires to learn essential aspects of their role over a reasonable timeframe.
