This is a Fixed-term Maternity Cover for 1 year.
The Faculty seeks to employ a teaching focused associate lecturer ideally with both engineering and higher education teaching experience of level 4 or 5 mathematics or even experience of level 3 (A-level) teaching would be valuable.
The post holder will work with staff across 6 departments within UCL Engineering to develop and teach cross-faculty elements of the year 2 (level 5) IEP Mathematics curriculum.
In the main, the post holder will provide maths curricula leadership and teaching support at faculty level to staff and students in departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and teach cross-faculty elements of the year 2 (level 5) IEP Mathematics curriculum.
- Provide maths curricula leadership and teaching support at faculty level to staff and students in departments.
- Lead a team of approximately 20-30 academic staff and PGTAs to teaching and support the assessment associated with the module.
About You
The following are some of the essential criteria required for this role:
- Educated to Degree level in an engineering science discipline or mathematics or hold equivalent qualifications and / or experience.
- Experience of using innovative Teaching Methods, including incorporating new technologies into the design and delivery of curricula.
- Experience of teaching undergraduates (working in higher education).
- Strong attention to detail, high standards of accuracy and excellent communication skills.
- Student-centred teaching skills, in particular using active learning techniques.
