Launch Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead the NPI / production readiness and launch process for a major international automotive group. This organisation has recently won several significant new automotive contracts and is looking for a skilled professional to manage the delivery of new products through manufacturing & tooling feasibility to successful production introduction and product launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project manage the delivery of new products through manufacturing & tooling feasibility to successful production introduction and product launch.
  2. Lead the development and implementation of quality control plans and processes.
  3. Coordinate the creation and sign-off of SOPs and maintenance needs.
  4. Lead process sign-off and run @ rate trials.
  5. Coordinate component supplies and suppliers prior to MBOM release.
  6. Project management – lead launch meetings and weekly reporting.
  7. Advanced Quality Planning, including customer sign-off and Process sign-off on the program.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in NPI or production launch in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  2. Engineering, Technical or Science BTEC/Degree/MSc qualified or equivalent, with demonstrable automotive manufacturing experience.
  3. Project/Programme management.
  4. Quality tools – APQP/PPAP/control plans.
  5. Strong planning and coordination skills.
  6. Good communication and influencing ability.

The Opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NPI Project Engineer or Launch Engineer to join a global automotive supplier who are both winning and quoting for significant new business. This position is being offered as a fixed term contract of employment, initially for a 2 year duration.
