Job Title: Launch Engineer - Automotive Manufacturing

Part of a major international automotive group, this organisation has recently secured several significant new automotive contracts and is seeking a Launch Engineer to lead the production readiness, new product introduction and launch process.

Job Summary:

As a Launch Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the production readiness, new product introduction and launch process. This includes project managing the delivery of new products through manufacturing and tooling feasibility to successful production introduction and product launch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project manage delivery of new product through manufacturing & tooling feasibility to successful production introduction and product launch
  • Lead PFMEA & quality control plan completion and approval
  • Coordinate packing specifications & trials to sign-off
  • Coordinate creation and sign-off of SOP and maintenance needs
  • Lead process sign-off & run @ rate trials
  • Coordinate component supplies & suppliers prior to MBOM release
  • Project management – lead launch meetings and weekly reporting
  • Advanced Quality Planning, including customer signoff and Process signoff on the program
Requirements:
  • We are seeking an experienced engineer with either Project, Manufacturing or Launch experience gained in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Proven New product introduction (NPI) or production launch experience
  • Project/ Programme management
  • Quality tools – APQP/ PPAP/ control plans
  • Strong planning and coordination skills
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Engineering, Technical or Science BTEC/ Degree/ MSc qualified or equivalent, with demonstratable automotive manufacturing experience.
The Opportunity:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NPI Project Engineer or Launch Engineer to join a global automotive supplier who are both winning and quoting for significant new business.

This position is offered as a fixed term contract of employment, initially for a 2 year duration.
