Position: Lead Supply Chain Strategist (Construction Sector)

Compensation: Competitive salary up to £80,000 based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating robust sourcing strategies that align with the Infrastructure Construction Strategy while proactively identifying potential risks and challenges within procurement and contract frameworks.
  • Providing effective leadership and direction, fostering a supportive environment for team success, while prioritizing health, safety, and well-being.
  • Overseeing the procurement process for sourcing and contracting, including the development, evaluation, and awarding of tender packages.
  • Managing Framework Agreements, ensuring optimal commercial performance from contractors, and cultivating relationships with strategic suppliers and senior stakeholders.
  • Negotiating and finalizing contracts with external suppliers, offering expertise in cost and pricing, and executing contract closure processes.
  • Implementing supplier relationship management practices, ensuring regular supplier reviews and effective monitoring.
  • Contributing to bidding activities to ensure budgetary compliance in alignment with business objectives.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in supply chain management within the construction sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of JCT and NEC Construction contracts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business and procurement methodologies, processes, policies, and strategies.
  • Proven experience in contract and supplier performance oversight.
  • Significant experience in team management and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on the client side.
  • MRICS qualification or equivalent.
  • MCIPS certification.
  • Background in public sector or regulated environments.
