Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Editor to join our team at Taylor & Francis. As a Production Editor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth publication of our journals and articles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate interactions between authors, editors, and suppliers to deliver high-quality publications.
  • Work closely with third-party suppliers to ensure timely and effective delivery of content.
  • Analyze errors and defects, and implement corrective actions to improve quality.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of supplier processes to collaborate on problem-solving, defect management, and best practice sharing.
  • Communicate best practices with editors, authors, societies, suppliers, and internal colleagues.
  • Understand how journals can be developed and drive changes to ensure each title meets Taylor & Francis standards.
  • Identify opportunities for change at the product level and sell the benefits to editors and internal colleagues.
  • Work as an enthusiastic and cooperative team player within a dynamic, effective, and flexible team.
  • Take ownership and accountability for your portfolio of titles, including communication with internal and external customers and suppliers, and error management.
Requirements
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to provide timely and effective customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a process-driven environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience working with external suppliers and partners, with a strong understanding of supplier processes.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage small projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Industry and market awareness, with a strong understanding of the publishing industry.
  • Ability to work in a customer-facing role, with a strong focus on customer service.
